Production Engineer

Job Description

To manage and supervise shop floor production activities, ensure timely completion of projects as per drawings, maintain quality standards, update ERP records, and coordinate manpower effectively.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma / Graduate (Mechanical or relevant field preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes and machinery.
• Good leadership and coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Manpower Handling:

• Manage and allocate shop floor manpower as per production targets.
• Guide and train operators and helpers on machine operations and safety.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and work discipline.

Technical & Drawing Interpretation:

• Read and interpret AutoCAD drawings before initiating production.
• Ensure fabrication work is executed as per technical specifications.
• Coordinate with design team for clarification of drawings if required.

Quality Control & Measurement:

• Verify dimensions (in mm) and material thickness using measurement tools.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections to maintain quality standards.
• Ensure finished products meet approved specifications.

Machinery Operations & Supervision:

• Supervise fabrication activities including MIG welding, shearing, bending, and grinding.
• Ensure proper usage and maintenance of machinery.
• Monitor machine performance and report breakdowns timely.

Daily Progress Reporting (DPR):

• Prepare and submit Daily Progress Reports (DPR) to senior management.
• Track production targets vs. actual output.
• Highlight delays, issues, and corrective actions required.

ERP System Management:

• Enter daily production data in ERP based on issued POs and completed work.
• Update Work-in-Progress (WIP) production records regularly
• Ensure accuracy of production entries and material consumption.
