Production Planning Manager

Job Description

To efficiently plan, manage, and supervise production operations to ensure timely project completion, maintain high quality standards, optimize resources, and coordinate effectively with different departments for smooth workflow and operational excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication processes such as cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
• Knowledge of fabrication machinery like CNC machines, laser cutters, press brakes, and bending machines.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and manage production workflows.
• Knowledge of production software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Scheduling:

• Develop and manage production schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production targets based on project timelines and priorities.
• Coordinate workflow across departments to maintain smooth production operations.
• Allocate resources and prepare dispatch plans based on production progress and project deadlines.

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Lead and supervise production staff including fabricators, printers, installers, CNC/laser operators, and finishing teams.
• Conduct training, performance evaluations, and enforce safety and quality standards.
• Resolve personnel issues and maintain a positive, productive work environment.

Quality Control

• Ensure all products meet company quality standards and client specifications.
• Implement quality-inspection procedures for materials, fabrication, printing, and installation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions..

Process & Workflow Optimization

• Identify inefficiencies in production and recommend improvements.
• Implement lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste and lower costs.
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of equipment (CNC, laser cutters, printers, laminators, etc.).

Inventory & Materials Management

• Monitor inventory levels of substrates, vinyl, ACM sheets, hardware, and other materials.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and tracking of materials.

Safety & Compliance

• Conduct safety training and ensure proper use of PPE and machinery.
• Maintain a clean and organized production area.

Budgeting & Cost Control

• Manage production budgets, track labour and material costs, and minimize wastage.
• Prepare reports on production efficiency, job profitability, and resource usage.
